FARMING IN THE CITY
Human beings have always looked up for direction.

Celestial navigators used the stars to calculate their position in open waters. Before there were proper calendars, farmers used the stars to determine when to sow or harvest allowing them to plan ahead and form agriculture.

If you don't know where you are, or more importantly who you are, making decisions and planning for the future can be excruciating. We help 20-somethings find their bearings by teaching them the big picture of God's story and how they can live into that story with confidence and clarity.

Farming requires patience, intentionality and Divine intervention. Jesus used farming illustrations often in his teachings. The Parable of the Sower teaches the importance of cultivating good soil to bear fruit that will last.

Our mission is to equip others to bless and feed the city as farmers, not miners. The act of farming always has as its motivation to bless and feed more than just yourself.
Miners come to consume resources and leave when they've had their fill.

We're mobilizing farmers who want to learn how to cultivate gospel renewal in the city.
Why do Cities Matter?
  • Over 60% of the earth's population live in Cities and are underserved by the Church.
  • Cities are where culture is created. As the city goes, society goes.
  • Cities are strategic centers for world mission due to its diversity of ethnicities and innovative resources. Making disciples at the world's crossroads is paramount for reaching the world.
  • From Genesis to Revelation, our story begins in a garden and ends in a city.

Who are the Freshman of the City?
  • This generation of young adults have embraced the City and are flocking to it. According to the Brookings Institution, San Diego has the 3rd highest percentage of millennials among the 100 largest U.S. metro areas.
  • Unlike past generations, this generation craves meaning and purpose in both work and life.
  • This is the most unchurched demographic in the country but also spiritually open.

We invite you to steward your time, treasure and talents to help 20-somethings thrive spiritually and live purposefully.

Time: Be a mentor
Treasure: Partner with Us
Talents: Gift yourself away
